My adventure began at the age of 14, when I left home to study at the maritime academy \u201cOfficers of the Sea \u2013 Akko.\u201d
At 23 I bought a small sailboat named\u00a0 Asterix,<\/em>and that\u2019s when the dream of leaving everything behind and sailing the world truly began.<\/span><\/p>

What was meant to be a one-year trip became a way of life. I crossed oceans, anchored at remote Caribbean islands, and lived far from civilization \u2014 and close to nature.<\/span><\/p>

The Race<\/span>Golden Globe Race<\/b> The Golden Globe Race is perhaps the toughest and purest ocean-sailing challenge in the world.<\/span>
<\/span> No crew. No stops. No outside assistance \u2014 just one sailor in a small boat (under 11 meters, built before 1988) facing the endless oceans.<\/span><\/p>

The rules allow only the technology available in 1968 \u2014<\/strong> \u2014
no GPS, no satellite internet, no modern weather routing.
Only a sextant, a compass, and paper charts.<\/p>

But the Golden Globe Race is much more than a competition.
