About Me - Daniel Pinsky

dscf7780

My adventure began at the age of 14, when I left home to study at the maritime academy “Officers of the Sea – Akko.”
At 23 I bought a small sailboat named  Asterix, and that’s when the dream of leaving everything behind and sailing the world truly began.

What was meant to be a one-year trip became a way of life. I crossed oceans, anchored at remote Caribbean islands, and lived far from civilization — and close to nature.

Today, I feel it’s time to chase another ambitious dream: to represent Israel in the Golden Globe Race.

About the Race

The RaceGolden Globe Race The Golden Globe Race is perhaps the toughest and purest ocean-sailing challenge in the world.
No crew. No stops. No outside assistance — just one sailor in a small boat (under 11 meters, built before 1988) facing the endless oceans.

The rules allow only the technology available in 1968 —
no GPS, no satellite internet, no modern weather routing.
Only a sextant, a compass, and paper charts.

But the Golden Globe Race is much more than a competition.
It’s a raw adventure -  a battle against the sea, nature, and above all - yourself.

Support the Journey

Preparing for the Golden Globe Race is a journey in itself. Behind every sailor alone in the middle of the ocean stands a team of people who make it possible. I invite you to take an active part -  — to support, advise, or help in any way you can and become part of the crew working behind the scenes.
