About Daniel

Sailing has been my whole life since the age of 14, when I left home to study at the Ktziney Yam maritime boarding school in Akko, through my navy service and with years of experience as a full-time liveaboard cruiser with over 20,000 nautical miles across the Mediterranean, Atlantic, and Caribbean. My latest project, Exodus, is a 1980 Baba 35. a classic full-keel yacht refitted for one of the toughest challenges in sailing: a solo, non-stop circumnavigation without modern navigation aids.

Now the time has come to finally achieve my goal of being the 1st Israeli sailor in the GGR.

About the Race

The Golden Globe Race is one of the toughest challenges in sailing and arguably the purest and most demanding ocean adventure that exists today.

A solo, non-stop circumnavigation. No outside assistance. No modern technology. Just one person aboard a small (under 11 meters), pre-1988 yacht, facing the vast, unforgiving oceans.

The GGR is far more than a race. It’s a test of seamanship, resilience, discipline, and the ability to face the Roughest oceans, But above all, it’s a test of yourself.
